Reporting recruiting offers from non-exciting schools
Rivals has an article with a headline indicating that Brennan Clay now has an offer from San Diego State. Why should we care? Hoe can that information be possibly useful? Why would an offer from SDS for a recruit we are looking at pique our interest? Is that expected?
It seems like these types of offers are reported a lot at the recruiting sites. I think its dumb.
cool story
hansel
Yeah...schools like San Diego State and, I don't know, Tulsa could never compete with the University of Michigan.
Its different because Clay hasn't committed to use yet.
It's for people who care about what's going on in the recruiting world, not just in Michigan's hemisphere. I personally like reading the articles about other schools because it lets me know what these kids are saying about places other than Michigan.
I guess thats a pretty good reason now that I think about it.
Does anyone know when Tulsa offered Beaver last year? Somehow I have a feeling they were at least actively recruiting him before he committed.
...North Carolina A & T (Raper), Arizona (Peace), Oklahoma State (Barnes), and Texas Tech (Graves).
I thought we didn't offer Raper. The other schools you mentioned are pretty decent BCS schools, unlike SDS.
Slow news in recruiting = push any story possible.
3) profit?
Brady Hoke is trying to build a good program at SDSU and obviously you have to offer the best talent around, even if it's going to leave and go elsewhere. There are SDSU fans out there who pay attention, and the recruiting world is always full of information.
