Remember the movie Hoosiers?

Remember when Gene Hackman sat the kid who wouldn't cooperate, then made the team lose with only 4 players because he refused to put him back in when everyone else fouled out? Yeah, I think maybe John Beilein saw that one too. Couldn't help thinking of that watching Manny today. Whatever it was he got it. That took balls on the part of Beilein, to take the heat he knew would follow and have the self-confidence to know he wouldn't lose the team after that huge loss. We have tolerated weak, incompetent, ineffective coaching for too long. This is the real deal and it showed today. I expect the same thing to happen in football.

Almost everyone questioned that move and thought Beilein was crazy. Seems that the coach usually knows what he's doing and the ANALysts don't. It got Manny to realize that his head has to be in the game and if not, his ass will be on the bench. It was a great showing by the team today. I still would have liked to see more scoring by some others but I'll take this win. Let's hope the team gets even better against Illinois and blows them out. That would be cool.

I thought this post was going to be an episode of The Chris Farley Show.... I didn't think of Hoosiers, but it would be awesome if this team made a run. Maybe the novak/douglas Indiana connection infused some hoosier into the team.
