but the article says that the scientists found that as result of being 'too perfect' that the balls will travel 'a little less far'.  So who knows.  My bet is this is study was funded by Adidas to find some excuse for why the ball is behaving so oddly, without making their product look bad.

likes to have seams on the ball so they can control the spin and where the ball is being placed.  They have come to know how to manipulate the ball flight to their liking thus making it more unpredictable in flight.

 

Juabulani ball has little to no seams and it's harder to manipulate(or takes longer for players to figure it out) the ball flight into a place where it's hard for goalkeeper to read the ball flight.
