One of my favorite sports moments of all time. Was watching with father in Savannah, GA in a hotel room. Will never forget, “5 seconds...fires from three...and the game is tied!!!”

According to Dylan Burkhardt at umhoops.com, Michigan had a 0.6% chance of winning with 2:33 to play.

It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine. Happy holidays and Go Blue!

For some reason, I feel like a single elimination tournament that decides the national champion will never be viewed as an exhibition by players. You’re comparing apples to oranges. Bowls (aside from the playoffs) decide nothing more than your end of season ranking. Meanwhile, the NCAA Tournament can determine the success or failure of a season.

I remember my reaction started with "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" followed by silence as my jaw dropped.  Great team that gave us a lot of memories.  They had so many close losses that it seemed like they were snakebitten until that very moment.

My third favorite sports memory of all time behind:

#1 Magglio Ordonez walk-off homerun vs the A’s in the 2006 ALCS

#2 Trey Burke vs Kansas

Was watching this game with my former Michigan roommates in Chicago, where I live now.

“And he rifles it right in front of us to Abdur-Rahan...at midcourt...extra pass...and it goes for the win!!!”

I remember when it first happened I asked someone to overlay the Dennis bergkamp audio clip on top of it. Someone did, and it was awesome. Sadly the video was taken down. Any industrious editor out there who wants to give an old man an early Christmas gift?

The awesomeness and the impact of this play has not faded with time.

I have a hard time believing that Beilein could have built what Michigan has been these last couple of years if Burke doesn't sink that shot. That run validated Michigan as a program and Beilein as a coach, and it all came down to Burke's shot.

I liked Stu Douglass dunking on Tennessee in 2011. But here are my regular season nominees:

2013 vs MSU: "They're gonna hold it, I think Tom Izz-OH NO! What a steal! Burke! Michigan, back on top!"

2014 at Purdue: "Robinson along the baseliiiiine GOT IT!"

My dad and I had just gotten home after listening to the comeback on the radio in the car, sat down to watch the end of the game, barely said a word for a half hour out of nervousness, then went nuts when the shot went in. One of my favorite Michigan memories for sure, and I wasn't even in the building.

I am a grown man and a dad.. When Trey hit that shot, my 3 year old at the time asked why I was crying.. lol.  I literally couldn’t control my emotions.

I've been trying to find a nice 8x10 or bigger photo of Trey's shot but have come up empty. So hard to find.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

I found a version of the picture that included the name of the photographer.  Turns out he worked/works for one of the bigger Kansas newspapers (can't recall which).  I tracked down his email and sent a note asking if I could buy a copy of the photograph for personal use.  Amazingly, he emailed back and included a link to a website to buy the picture.  Check a few of the major Kansas newspaper websites.  In the meantime, I'll see if I can find the email with link buried in my inbox.

Edit: found the link. Name of the photographer is Nick Krug and newspaper is Lawrence Journal World
