The quote from Bosie St player that drew the Oregon Punch

Submitted by Engin77 on
Backstory:
Boise St went into Eugene last year, jumped out to a big lead and, as Oregon tried to come back late, knocked out the Oregon QB with a borderline late hit ( there were a couple of such hits ).
Mid-August, most Oregon players are tight-lipped about the opener, on the road at Boise St. Not Senior tailback LeGarrette Blount who loudly and frequently declares "We owe that team an ass-whuppin'".
The Game: The Boise St defense overpowers the inexperienced Oregon OL and shows extra intensity when tackling Bloun, who carries 8 times for -5 yds, including a safety. Boise St wins 19-8.
After the last play of the game, Boise State defensive end Byron Hout sought out Blount to tell him (reportedly), "Now you owe us two ass-whuppins."

comeback. Certainly didn't deserve the response(by Blount). What it reminds me of though is that fight between FIU and Miami(yes, that Miami). Everyone of those players that used their helmets as weapons and stomped on the other players should have been dismissed from the team immediately, but that's not how they do things in South Florida. Every time I see Miami that's what I think of. I can never respect that school because of that and they seemed to be the cause for all the celebration and taunting rules.

Hout went looking for Blount,he hunted him down to rub his nose in it. Wow...I guess growing up in a tough neighborhood was good for something,we all learned that lesson at young age.

I was working with the camera guy when Frieder punched him at halftime. My esteemed colleague turned to me and had the same look on his face as Hout. Not comparing motivation/culpability/ass-kickiness, just that wonderful facial expression. Crap, I think I'm old.

If you're gonna punch someone in the face, at least take your helmet off and go at it (not that punching someone in the face or elsewhere is acceptable behavior). The talking happens all the time - before, during, and after the game. It's just unusual when it results in a KO.
