Quinn Nordin NFL (Pre-season) debut: 3/3 FG, 1/2 XP
Nordin had a great first 3 kicks in Thursday's game, with makes from 35, 40 and 50 yards. The 50-yarder had PLENTY of distance, was right down the middle and earned an "Oh my!" From the Pat's broadcast crew.
The missed XP in the 2nd half was the one blemish. It left WAS within one score, leaving the game outcome in doubt for much of the 4th quarter.
Nevertheless, there's a lot of good Friday morning press for Nordin with Nick Folk still MIA for undisclosed reasons. Even if Nordin doesn't unseat Folk, he'll get consideration with any other NFL team having kicking problems. (COUGH...Lions...COUGH)

Which I'm not a fan of. Just seems so unnatural. I still want to see something like a rugby conversion. Kick it from where the TD was scored horizontally. Maybe from the 5 or 10. Kicker can choose to back it up if they want for the angle.

I don't think missed PATs are tolerated in the NFL. Just sayin.

Eh...only one team (Miami Dolphins) was perfect on PATs last season. New England actually missed almost 10% of attempts.
Kickers are still expected to make the vast majority of them, but you won't lose your job just for missing every once in awhile. Kicking a weird shaped ball a decent distance with 300 pound freaks of nature trying to stop you is hard.

Also, it's the preseason and who knows if it was even 100% on Nordin. Could have been a bad snap or mediocre hold that led to the miss.

I think the odds are against Nordin. The Pats don't value long FG's - even when they had two of the best kickers in history during their championship runs. And distance - not consistency - is the thing Nordin brings to the table.

Also, Cheeeeeeseman is the new LS for the WFT, so it was a special teams dance off.

It's pretty notable that Cheesman got drafted as a longsnapper, there have been only a handful of pure LS ever drafted.
It's unfortunate that Green Bay didn't take him, though. the Cheeseman jersey would have set untouchable sales records for a longsnapper.

Looked on madden 22 rosters for players, Cheeseman made madden 22 as a "TE". Lowest rated guy on the team, even managed a picture of him.
