Question for TVH

Submitted by CheckOutMyRod on

I know fullback is not a big position in this offense but is Michigan looking at any in this class? I was just wondering because the #2 fullback in the country is from here(Portsmouth,Ohio) and is great player. His name is Trevon Pendelton and thought you might have some info. Thanks

Along those same lines, I saw at least two plays drawn up for McColgan on Saturday that appeared to fail (I'll wait for the UFRs before I pass judgment).  I was unsure why they would call these plays but that's why I'm at home watching and not coaching.

The Michigan I-formation in general needs serious work if they intend on using it.  That play action pass seemed to work but the ball was batted down.  Yeah, so would be curious as to whether Michigan would invest serious energy into finding a legit FB type.  Or... just throw Hopkins back there.

a lot of times the rankings for fb's have more to do with running ability. Helmuth was the number 1 fb in the country a couple yrs back, and obviously never really saw the field. for the most part, the fb in RR's system is mainly responsible for blocking. So i wouldnt be too concerned about how highly ranked our fb recruits are. although i wouldnt mind getting a scholarship fb if he is a beast run blocker. it would definitely be worth the scholarship.

There are times when a lead blocker is needed on short yardage, but anyone (including Campbell) with size will do.  Otherwise, it is all about speed and hands.
