Question about parking at the Orange Bowl

Submitted by michgoblue on December 30th, 2021 at 9:01 PM

I have tickets for the game tomorrow (where I will PUMP IT UP), but I have a question about parking. Stubhub has availability in the Orange Lot. Are there other options for convenient parking close to the stadium?  Never been to Hard Rock before so I would appreciate any advice. For this once in a lifetime occasion, I am more concerned with convenience that cost (within reason). Thanks and Go Blue!

My understanding is that all lots not Yellow require a hard (physical) pass. Yellow is available from the Orange Bowl site and is an eticket. Had em error trying to purchase a single pass yesterday and had to call and do it over the phone. Pass was $50.

Don’t buy a ticket to the Orange Lot unless you are confident that you will have a physical parking tag to hang from your car in time for the game.

They switched things up this week to where they no longer except mobile passes anywhere other than the yellow lots. You have to have a physical parking tag. I bought a ticket to the Orange Lot originally but I’m not at my original mailing address (holiday travel) and the seller couldn’t mail me a pass in time, so I had to get refunded and buy a ticket to the yellow lot.

If you’re still unsure at this point, just buy for the yellow lot. Get the pass on your phone and you’ll probably save yourself some headaches tomorrow afternoon.

I’m a local, basically, the only reasonable parking near the stadium is on-premises.   Just stock up on what you need pre-game and there early, and hunker down.  SunPass is your friend because you can get on / off the Turnpike directly from the stadium with it.  NW 27th Avenue / University Drive (name changes at Dade / Broward County line, same road) and NW 199th St (Honey Hill Drive) are alternate ways out.  Don’t park at Walmart.

The area around the stadium is a lower-middle income working class area of South Florida.  Don’t expect posh amenities anywhere nearby or anyone to take an interest in your tourist travails, they have their own lives going on.  It’s just an honest legit neighborhood like most of South Florida outside the tourist zones.  If you want to venture out to the real Dade / Broward, there are plenty of little mom and pop strip mall restaurants that will set you up right before the game.

Yeah, just get a pass, don’t fight it.

The car rental will offer you a SunPass as an add-on option to your rental when you pick up,  but the pro tip is to go to Publix and buy a sticker pass there and sign up immediately with your mobile phone.  IIRC SunPass gives you some credits and its a lot cheaper than paying the rental place for their pass, especially if you are doing that length of drive as round trip.

Also, Florida’s Turnpike has a direct exit into the Stadium Parking lots Via its extension off its main line.  Watch the signs as you get near the Hollywood exits.

No. We flew down on Tuesday and have spent the past few days at Universal (fun place if you have kids). We were originally planning on just going to Miami for the few days before the game but there isn’t a ton to do, and we’ve been there before, so we figured we would do a few days in universal Studios and then drive down from Orlando the morning of the game. It’s only 3-4 hours.

If you're not hosting the tailgate, drive in from the north on the Florida Turnpike, take the 27th Ave exit, and park at the dirt lot on the west side of 27th just northwest of the stadium.  The walk to the stadium is easy and exit by car after the game is very easy, just drive north and hit the turnpike again to get to your NYE spot.

I've parked here many times and no issues.
