We all remember the story of when Jim Harbaugh and D.J. Durkin engaged in a legendary and bloody one-on-one basketball game. Here's some proof that back in the day, our coach was a scoring machine. From the Dec. 30, 1981, edition of the San Francisco Examiner.

If I recall rightly, Bob Griese, the father of Brian, was not only the quarterback for Purdue's football team in 1964, but played in their basketball team as well.

All-round athletes (Ronnie Bell?) have to specialize if they hope to achieve the highest level of success, I suppose.

Speedy wide receivers and defensive backs were often sprinters in high school too. Wrestlers as linemen? Skinny long-distance runners? Not so much.
