Programming OT: ESPNU Top 25 games of 2016 + Last Chance U (season 2)
I know everyone loves watching us win a WEIRD game versus Wisconsin almost 10 years ago or an ugly game @ Northwestern on BTN. But for college football lovers, ESPNU has started it's Top 25 Games of 2016.
I would rather watch every single one of these amazing college football games from last year than one down of either of those awful Michigan wins. I love Michigan, I'd watch any WIN from last year again...but I LOVE college football as well. For those of you that are in the Night Games (open thread)...this us for us. Great games last year.
UNFORTUNATELY there are THREE games from last year that will undoubtedly be on this list that I will NOT be watching. Two have already been named and we know which game may be #1.
--------------------------------
Also season 2 of Last Chance U has been announced on Netflix and it's starting soon! Former Michigan DB Brian Cole II is on the team (and had a solid year for East Mississippi CC). Cole is now at Mississippi St. The QB is with Lane Kiffin at FAU.
He is at MSU... Mississippi State that is. College football's real MSU.
Sorry...on #5 of 6 Ballast Point Grapefruit, eyes starting to get a little impatient, typing starting to get a little impaired.
They can't get any Michigan wins on there? How about the Wisconsin game? I know it wasn't aesthetically pleasing but it was a close, hard fought game between two top 10 teams.
Also just shows you how damn close we were last year, every game we lost was a barnburner that came down to the very last play.
Gotta disagree with you on that. It was a tough, hard-fought game on bolf sides and Wisconsin was chucking the ball in the final minutes down by only 1 score. If Jourdan Lewis doesn't defy gravity for an extra second, the Wisconsin reciever catches a 90-yard TD and we head to overtime.
Maybe it will be...I guess it could be in the top half. Although it was more a close game between two top team than a good game, IMO. Speight played like absolute dog shit until the end.
Well, the Iowa game wasn't exactly a "good game" either
But you and I both know ugly upsets of top 5 teams are more sexy to the national public than ugly close wins by top 5 teams.
Especially a last second FG.
For some reason the sports media makes the biggest deal out of last second FGs - even in shitty games, home run robbing catches and regular season slam dunks.
I can still see that loser from MSU helicoptering his arm around after that last second win over OSU.
At least the FG is a game winning "highlight" though. But no one wants to watch a shitty game to see one kick was my point. Was the most addictive show I saw in 2016. Must plan this carefully.
You know Game of Thrones was the most addictive show of 2016!!! And every year before and every year after!
All Hail GoT!!!!!!!!!
Like the way Tormund stared at Brienne last night!
Sadly yes. Upsetting a top 3 team is a big deal. Especially for a crappy Iowa team. Of course we don't like it , it was our team. But if Iowa had upset Ohio State or Alabama we'd be all about it.
If I had to guess, the 8 other games in the Top 10 are (in some order):
1. Rose Bowl
2-4. ACC trifecta: Louisville @ Clemson, Clemson @ FSU, Pitt @ Clemson
5. Tennessee v Georgia, the double Hail-Mary game
6. Alabama v Ole Miss (before Ole Miss went down the crapper, this game was good).
7. OU v Texas Tech (just because there were 1 Billion point scored).
8. PSU v Wisconsin, B1G Championship.
Good call on the NC Game, that's an easy #1...however, I think it could be #2. It was the most watch regular season game of last year, a classic, and the hype was UNREAL.
I'm not saying it WILL be #2...you listed some good ones, I'm just saying it wouldn't shock me if it was.
