If I were drawing up my dream QB right now, he'd have all the mobility of Ryan Mallett, the agility of Alex Mitchell, the passing accuracy of Alan Branch, and the height of Elvis Grbac.

That's right, DAVID CONE.

Bo help us all.

Look, Feagin's redshirt doesn't matter that much. At this point next year, he will either be 4th or 5th on the QB depth chart. If he moves to slot, he's behing Odoms and Robinson (both of whom have practiced there all year), and Clemons. Add in the arrival of Gallon and Teric Jones, and I think he's looking at around 4th on the depth chart there. He is, in all liklihood, a career backup.

You're probably right about that, but it is still not worth wasting a year of eligibility for basically anyone this year.  Does it really matter at this point if the team goes 3-9 instead of 2-10?

Chitown is probably correct about Feagin.  If I were RichRod, I'd probably try to redshirt him as a favor, so that he would have the eligibility if he needs it or wants it later.  I wonder if Feagin ends up a transfer after Beaver/Forcier/Smith(?) come in next year.

I have no issue with burning Feagin's redshirt.  I agree with Chitown's post that he's likely to be a career backup, and if he can benefit the team somehow this year, even if it's to add a spark to the team in one of our remaining games, I would be OK with that.  And yes, 3-9 is certainly better than 2-10.  And 4-8 is certainly better than 3-9.  One win makes a difference.

Maybe the coaching staff is as wrong about Feagin being a bad QB as they were about Sheridan being a good one.  Get Feagin on the field and let's see what happens (if Threet can't go).

I say screw the redshirt and get the kid on the field. We can't do any worse, why not roll the dice and see what he can do. Maybe we'll execute better for some inexplicable reason.
