President Schlissel Announces Campus WILL Open for Fall Semester
I just received an email from President Schlissel containing the official announcement that campus will be open in the fall. The semester will consist of a combination of in-person, hybrid, and remote learning formats. Classes will begin August 31 and will run through Thanksgiving before moving to a strictly remote format after a nine-day break. This is thrilling for me, as I now know I will be in Ann Arbor this fall. Go Blue!

Literally one post down.
Also, I REALLY want to watch football this fall.
Michigan is following the Notre Dame and MSU plan. Good luck to all students. Hope this works.
This post is better written than the other one.
I apologize to all for repeating what was stated in the post prior to mine. Evidently I was in the midst of typing as the other post was submitted.
In particular, I like the idea of going strictly remote after a long Thanksgiving break.
Very likely the thinking is that (if successful in keeping the pandemic at bay from September though Thanksgiving) a relative campus shutdown post-Thanksgiving would head off the possibility of students returning and bringing the virus with them in the midst of flu season.
Missed it by that much.
Juuuuuuusst a bit outside
The interesting stuff gets nuked, now nuke this redundant post
can't afford to lose another $1 billion
My Neighbor kid (in Buffalo), who I met yesterday while wearing my M hat, was excited to go back for his sophomore year. Hope all of the kids can have fun while staying healthy.
Yes again.
