The AP released their preseason All American Teams this afternoon.  Corum and Zinter are on the first team.  Will Johnson is on the 2nd team.

Caleb Williams is 1st team QB, Drake Maye 2nd team.   The B1G leads all conferences with 12 selections.  The SEC has 7.

Feels about right; I suspect either Jenkins or Graham are going to make the season-ending team as interior linemen.

JTT being on the 2nd team again reminds me that apparently 90% of all AP voters watched only one OSU game last year and it was against PSU.  And Travis Hunter is coming up from the FCS yet is presumed to be the best all-purpose player in America?  He's talented but maybe wait for him to play even consistent FBS competition before assuming he'll be a star.

Will Johnson is already considered the best CB in the nation by both college and NFL scouts.  Should be 1st team.

D. Edwards should be 2nd team as a RB.

Other than that, feels fair based on production.

We could probabaly see 6-7 1st and 2nd team All Americans by year end.

Some realistic candidates based on past performance and current hype

Corum

Edwards

Loveland/Barner (Choose 1)

Colson/Hausmann (Choose 1)

Keegan

Zinter

Rod Moore

Sainristill

Jenkins/Graham (Choose 1)

Seems the WR position and maybe the tackles and edge are spots that would be tough to break into, but maybe Stewart is O-ja-bo 2.0, a tackle emerges as elite (not just very good), and CJ or Wilson have a break out year - but I don't think our offense is conducive to putting out All American WRs, no matter how good.

Just fine - agreed. But imagine his ability, even if generally underused, to break plays in really high leverage moments.  I don’t think TCU could run the scheme they wanted and cover Worthy. Imagine Wilson getting matched up more consistently with teams 2nd or 3rd best and how much more open he could be too.

Illinois would not have remained a close game.
