Potential move of Will Campbell to OG

You may disagree after Hemingway, Stonum, Odoms and Grady all graduate the same year.

I'd rather have a 4th or 5th receiver who's a liability than a starting defensive tackle. Seriously, if Martin gets injured next year, who's behind him? What about when he graduates?

Worse case scenario; what if forgoes his senior season?

Part of the problem is likely a motor issue, but maybe he is just one of those kids that got by for so long on physical domination that he never learned much in the way of technique, and it is catching up to him. While Brandon Graham certainly had a better start to his career, it took him nearly two years to really mature as a player, so perhaps that will be the case with Campbell. I'm probably reaching, but sometimes these big guys just need more time.

I agree when I say motor I was a little misleading. I meant a motor to get up for work outs. A motor to study technique on his own time. A motor to stay in shape. He's a NT he doesn't need a great motor but he needs to get low and have some determination to get on the field.

I really believe that he's going to be the NT in two years, and possibly a DT next year. He's got the body (330 is pretty big) and that's what we need at NT. When Martin is gone we'll have a 5* NT who is BIG. And next year I expect him to start at some point or another and be a great helper with Martin in taking up double teams. Why I don't see him as OG:
These reasons are already posted, but let me sum them up:
1.) Depth is an issue on DL and not so on OG
2.) He's just too big and slow to be an OG in this offense.
3.) He's just too big to not be a NT in this defense.
4.) He was recruited to play DL and should stay where he is. Look at how much trouble we're having with position switch players this year (I'm looking at you Cam).

I just don't see it. Some view our dline as the "strength" of the defense. But that really is a tall midget (no offense to short people). We have Banks, Sagesse and Patterson getting significant playing time. That ain't good. Martin is better suited to a true DT not NT, Van Bergen is a good, not great, DE and Roh has potential but is still undersized. Right now next years most important recruit/addition is this year true freshman Richard Ash. We need him or Campbell to be a good NT and then our DL can can have upperclassman in the right positions on the DL next year. Campbell needs to stay on D and Ash or maybe T. Talbott needs to be a good NT.

...and then wide receiver...and then punter...and then they're going to try him at QB...then, if there's time, he'll be the strength and conditioning coach.

He'll be an impact NT.
Maybe that's not the best choice of words...

he'd probably weigh a lot less.

After seeing how Demens played and how long it took him to see the field I don't think that it is a given that big Will won't be a solid player once he is on the field regularly. He has made a few good plays on the goal line and had one or two batted passes against BG. I will wait until he has significant game time to pass judgment on him.
