Poll: Pioneer or Golf Course for Tailgating?
Simple question: which tailgating area do you prefer? The Pioneer lot, where you gotta hide your beers, or the Golf Course, where you can't get in 'till 8 and gotta line up for a spot? Pick just one of these two. Comments appreciated.

I prefer the golf course. Like setting up on the grass.

The golf course in a landslide. It seems there is more room and as was stated earlier, the party atmosphere is light years ahead of the pioneer crowd.

This past Saturday we decided to park at Pioneer and found that they raised their price once again (from $30 to $35). The golf course has WAY more room and a MUCH better ground to setup on. Not only does Pioneer pack you in, the ground was so muddy in spots that some tailgaters had to pack up after it rained. I will never park at Pioneer again.

Never had to hide anything at Pioneer, though. It does get a little cramped at Pioneer. Maybe next time we'll try the golf course.

Why isn't Blue Lot included in this poll, too? Is it because you need a permit?

Yeah. It was just a question of the two public areas.

I think the scenery on the golf course makes it a much better place to tailgate. The whole being on a golf course with 20000 people does it for me.

but, after tailgating for the UConn game and found the majority of the lot is now dirt and rocks, I'll be on the golf course from now on!

Was at the UConn game as well..heard several times that (maybe not for 2010 season) they will be paving the grass lot, that's why it is dirt/rocks. If you noticed all the sewers & manholes, I believe there is a good chance it will become another blacktop heat magnet for the early season games, but can probably get plowed in the Nov games (if it snows)..
