Pat Forde goes CFN Stupid...

Submitted by bigmc6000 on
So it seems that Pat Ford is putting in a bid to join CFN given the absolute idiocy of this article... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=436… Essentially he wants to have him and a couple of his ESPN buddies select the top 40 teams before the season starts, make 4 "conferences" of 10 and then have the 4 champs play each other in a playoff. This is such a piss poor excuse for an idea the XFL wouldn't have even adopted it...

I have been against this slob for years - his work is laughable. The idea of relegating teams to lower divisions is an interesting concept and thus there is no way he came up with it. (See EPL) He is a Dbag for oh so many reasons and his articles make me cringe. I have problems with plenty of their writers but I cannot deny that Clayton knows NFL, Kiper on the draft, B.Simmons knows the NBA (and MTV), and I can always bank on sal paolantonio giving us the spin on the giants/jets or Ed Werder on the Cowboys. But this guy has nothing going for him - he just wrapped cycling coverage and he is probably next up to cover the WNBA. Someone get me Scoop Jackson!

We laugh at his supposed stupidity, yet here we are reading/discussing an article he wrote for ESPN. That's how he stays employed.

...and ESPN doesn't care if we discuss him here or not. If they are tracking his comments and hits, it would be at ESPN.com and not here. I am guessing that it is his classic "talking head" looks and voice, as referenced by previous responders to this post, that keep him employed. Either that, or he is really, really great at schmoozing his bosses. I can't imagine what someone like Shaun King, for example, must think when he has to work on-camera with him.

I tried to give a brief rundown of what he said so you wouldn't have to click just to find out the rabid stupidity but I couldn't leave the link out because then people would be asking for the link - can't please everyone! And yeah, he probably stays employed because he's a .com guy and people are going to click on anything on ESPN just to see their idea even if 90% of the time it's idiotic (ok, maybe not 90 but it's certainly approaching CFN level lately).

It would be nice if he got rid of all the cultural references that almost make him seem clever. "Gordon Gekko subdivision (Motto: Greed is good)" -Oh? you've seen one of the most popular business-type movies and have the knowledge to quote one of the most famous quotes, AND connect it to the largest money-makers in college football? That's really something else Forde... "To the poor: Let them eat cake" -um...you do know that this type of banter exemplified the ignorance of the monarchy, which enraged the working class of France, and led to the French Revolution? Are you asking for a revolution?

Pat Forde's head? Literally, it looks like a fucking kidney bean for cryin out loud. How that retard got a job at ESPN is beyond me. (not really, for those of you who don't get sarcasm)
