OT - Zombie Nation - "Kernkraft 400"
Anyone else ever stopped to realize how weird it is that a song by a random German techno artist is one of the most played anthems in collegiate American football -- a sport that hardly qualifies as worldly -- given the status of electronic music in the US?
And isn't it weirder that a song based on the soundtrack of a game on the Commodore 64 is so popular?
And isn't it even weirder that the Germans are making better techno than we are now? I mean, Detroit spawned techno. We were making all the good stuff. First the Germans go and start making better cars, then they have to take our music, too.
THEY TOOK OUR JERBS!
So, in closing, that song is obnoxious, and I would invent a time machine solely for the purpose of going back in time and preventing it from being made.
if you wanna say that the germans are making better techno this definitely is not a good example of that claim. This song is annoying as balls.
Of course oddly enough the biggest song to sing out in European soccer now is "Seven-Nation Army" from.....Detroit. We can still export something people want!
Yeah, that is kind of weird.
rod and bill martin bonded over a shared love of drexciya
must be the aquatic theme
But... We Own Penn State?
Yeah, zombie nation sucks. THEY TOOK ER JERBS!! RABBLE
"We own, Penn St" Hey! we should yell that when they come here!
I've always wondered why we don't yell that.
We yelled it the last time we played Penn St. in Ann Arbor.
It's played at every basketball game. It's cool during Big Ten games when the opposing fans also chant "We Own Penn State".
