OT: Was Al Davis right? Kiffen is a lunatic.

His brash attitude in the face of an investigation is going to kill him Al Davis is no exemplary person, but I am starting to think that Al had this one pegged. His angry tirade after firing Kiffen may have been deserved. Have any of his former players with the Raiders or with USC ever made any comments about him? Anything recently?

I think it is telling that Kiffin continues to bait the press and his naysayers while this is going on. I would not be surprised to see some sanctions come out of these recruiting trips, but I also doubt you'll see much of an uproar in Knoxville. This is not new to recruiting by any means, but it seems like this is par for the course in SEC country. Kiffin's antics wouldn't work at most colleges because he (a) hasn't won much, and (b) brings quite a bit of negative publicity while trying to build a winner. But at the school which led to the creation of the Fulmer Cup, and a conference that has featured quite a few recruiting snafus over the years, this plays pretty well.

1) Kiffin is a douche 2) The captain of the hostess squad is not hot 3) I wish I were a 5* recruit. I'd probably just try and see how many hostesses I can "hang out with" every weekend.

He has lost 3? assistants so far after his first season Tennessee commits are beginning to seek out backup schools quicker than ND commits did Not to mention all the secondary violations The 2 ongoing investigations Getting kicked out of Pahokee Reprimanded by the SEC and thats just off the top of my head

...and he will take UT down with him. The only question is one of extent, as in "how bad will their sanctions be?" I'm sure he and his staff are committing major violations right now, and the longer he stays, the more violations they will have a chance to commit. Steve Spurrier, who once uttered the classic line, "You can't spell Citrus Bowl without UT," will get at least one more episode of spasmodic laughter in his life.

Maybe the media paints Lane Kiffin a bad picture just like they paint Rich Rod. You think that after all we went through, Michigan fans would be less quick to judge.

I don't remember RichRod's comments about the NCAA's investigation being the same as Kiffen's. RichRod's remarks related to how much he cared about his players and beyond that he said very little. Kiffen calls the investigation a compliment. That's the kind of compliment we don't need.
