OT - Tigers vs. Angels 7/19 (There's no curse)
The official thread to test the trend of a Tigers loss when an open thread has been created. Last night's thread was started when Detroit held a 4-1 lead, thus violating* the Rules and Regulations of Curse Management and Jinx Control. Let's hope Max Scherzer gives a solid outing. Go Tigers!
*Bylaw 1.2b allows for creation of a thread mid-game under the circumstances that the bases are empty and the game is tied.
EDIT: Whoever failed at an embed with the first post broke the Internet (unless you're using the mgoblog app).
[ed-S - no idea, but this foe may be beyond my powers. Sticking a sword through the monitor makes the whole internet go away, though]

I don't think I am the only one out there that is cautiously optimistic about the Tigers. Fister pitched two amazing games in a row, Delmon Young is hitting well (along with a few others who struggled in the first half) and that's all we really need to win this division. This next series is huge, though that is pretty obvious.
Hm, wonder if that embed worked...
If we can take three from this team, and I don't read any breaking news about a major injury to a Tiger in my twitter feed for the next three months, I feel really good about this team making a run. We've had the type of season World Series teams have, ups and downs, really steady, staying in it but not peaking too early. I'm not trying to predict the future, I just think there's still hope in this camp. October is still a loooong way away.
Who would you trust with the ball in your hands in crunch time, Max or Ricky? Both put together a few good games followed with some atrocious games. I'd go with Max because of what he did at Yankee stadium last year; and he's a K pitcher.
Scherzer at 109 pitches through 7 innings, only allowing 3 hits and 1 run. Detroit pitching has 19 strikeouts in the past two days. Not too shabby.
