OT: Tigers 8/4 Open Thread - Inge's Return
Supposedly returning to third base and batting sixth in the lineup.
Inge is expected to be in the starting lineup and at third base on Wednesday night against the White Sox at Comerica Park. Jhonny Peralta, the third baseman the Tigers acquired from Cleveland last week to fill in for Inge, could shift to shortstop or designated hitter.
He may not be the best player, but you've got to respect the heck out of a guy who is coming back far, far earlier than planned at a time when the team could easily fold up shop.
he has a lot more confidence and plate experience than half the roster.
Tigers down 1-0 bottom of 2nd, two outs, inge gone on fielder's choice
White Sox fan here (don't hate me) but as a baseball player, I like Inge. Are the Tigers going to re-sign him next year?
He loves Detroit and you'd be hard pressed to find a better third baseman for his value.
Tigers will probably resign him. There aren't many better options on the market. Though I'd hope they can sign him at a bit of a lower salary and then go after some big bats with all the money that will free up this year.
Hopefully a catcher *cough* Miguel Olivio * cough*
Well, at least you won't go after a "stud" 3B like the Sox did last offseason with Mark Teahen. Terrible move -- I love Kenny Williams but that was not the best move he's ever made, but he's due for a couple of mishaps. Now we have the power hitting Omar Vizquel at 3B...ugh. Oh well, Viciedo should be our project 3B of the future.
Amazing. From MidJune to now there was a 13 game swing, 14 after this one, dumping the Tigers from 1 out behind Minnesota to 8 back of the Sox.
3 hits, Tigers losing 1-4, bottom of the 8th
Cartman is on the mound now, game over.
