OT: Steve Patterson(Texas AD) angers a lot of his fanbase
Steve Patterson the AD over at Texas has been compared to Dave Brandon on the blog before and I'm sure will be again. His most recent genius move was to force popular Texas sports blog shaggybevo.com to change their name. This was briefly covered on todays front page. It created some first world problems for members like not being able to find the site and login problems, nothing huge but just another straw to help the camel's back.
I could imagine the justified uproar if Dave Brandon made the blog change it's name over some "MGO" trademark or something. I hope Texas can get rid of their CEO style Athletic Director like we did.
Now there is a certain user on that blog that some of you might know, but all of you should get acquainted with. He is a master artist with MS Paint and covers college football in season on weekly basis. He has a great take on Patterson's tenure at Texas so far. Now before you click know it might be a little NSFW so, ya know... Also offseason.

The un-sung hero.

For a guy that had no experience in handling big time athletics, nor even saw the point of them, he handled the situation deftly.
He could have just shut down and let the whole thing implode. I'm sure he thought he had more important things to do. But he gave it his due diligence.
Kudos.

Make sure you are not at work.
Or at home with the family.
Or among friends who are not 12 years old.
Or in public places.
In fact, it's best to get in your car alone and drive to the middle of nowhere where nobody can hear you or see you.
It will be worth the trip.
/Had to
Okay +1 for you and Carlos for turning me on to that season in review & the URL...this is some funny shit.

Player Spectograph was sadly on point. Jimbo Fisher has a very similar one....
"shaggytexas.com" is fucking hilarious and sad at the same time. The empathy. I have it.
Would've been hilarious to see them double down and rename it to FuckStevePatterson.com
Texted my sister, bro-in-law, and nephew, all UT alumni, to see what's up...
Keep us posted.
Will do - but I think they're locked up in a FEMA camp in New Braunfels by now.

He's been pissing people off ala Brandon since he arrived. The President even told him to chill.
IMO, he'll be gone as soon as it's somewhat fiscally responsible to do so.
He was pretty unpopular while working for the Portland Trailblazers too.

So Patterson has basically alienated the most ardent portion of his school's fanbase: those who read its most prominent blog. What a fucking idiot...

Good thing something like that would never happen here.
They're a bunch of fucking amateurs....
Notable Texas-based reporter Brown with his latest piece, this one on the changing relationship dynamics between leaders at Texas & Oklahoma that sources say make it easier for Sooners Prez Boren to "sell a vision to those in his camp that may or may not include Texas when it comes to realignment," points to a possibility of Oklahoma &Oklahoma State one day bolting together with the SEC as the likely destination, believes the leadership turnover at Texas has created a divide - link
