OT: Star Trek + Dilithium = Esplode…. Esplode clarity

Submitted by Bromigo on

So funny thing, I got out the vaporizer tonight. Which is always a super neat way to start a post, and naturally I started thinking about Star Trek and the potential connection to the root source of Dilithium. Then I thought, man, I finally really understand what Esplode means but I urban dictionary-ed (that’s a real verb) Esplode and there are a few options.

1. A term that replaces "explode." Based on a King of the Hill episode where Hank Hill must tutor a football player from the local school. In his essay about propane, the student thanks God for not being "esploded."

2. An engrish translation of the word explode. Referenced in a Strongbad sketch.

3. To explode and then return to it's normal state before exploding.

Then I thought, man that sucks that my Esplode might be different then everyone else’s Esplode. In an effort to make sure that we are Esploding the same things in our heads. What do you think when you read Esplode. No wrong answers, it’s like just your opinion man.

Out of these three my top draft choice would be….aghh…uhhh… <ESPLODE>

My man my MAN!  Truer words have never been spoken but then again maybe they have.  I was thinking the exact same thing except different in a nice way.  She said it to me the other day when she went all "la-de-da" like she always does when it happens.  It always happens now doesnt it? Who can say who can say righ?

Right.

So then off she went again and brought it home and then she says to me "hey do you still have it or what?" and I go "have it- of course I have it where else would it be" and she says "right" so I go "right". So maybe I was wrong and I was thinking that the other day too. Right?

Right.

Ha, it's funny, I was just watching Star Trek: Nemesis last night, and when Tom Hardy's Picard clone character is talking about his childhood, he says that he got sent to the dilithium mines. My first thought was, "oh, like where Denard is from..."

Thanks Bro. I probably should have put a few things in better context than just the title but I wasn’t with full faculty last night.

1. Dilithium is mentioned in the new Star Trek flick for those who haven’t seen it. Shoe missed a great opportunity to address this is his movie critique. Get that man a PR rep ASAP because the NFL needs to understand the power of his smile and Dilithium.

2. I have stage four night blindness and a Dr’s note. So it’s totally fine for the anit-herbal contingent out there.

That was the clarity I was looking for. Asplode has a clearer definition and is also much better than the three above IMO.

Thanks for the direction and help with that ever tricky first letter in a word…. apparently that is a thing for me these days.
