I have been sick all weekend, so I am watching the USA-Honduras match from the other night. I know the outcome, and it is right before half. Damn they looked good!

Didnt get to watch the game Friday, anyone willing to fill a boy in??  What did the lineup look like?  Young or old?  How did the young guys look, who led the play??  Did we control flow?

Its Honduras, all this matters, any team with a pulse can put a licking on Honduras from time to time.

Reemed at for posting my opinion about the over-saturation of Harbaugh stories.

Can I say the same for people who open these threads just to downvote? If you don't like it, let it go, right?!

I'm kind of enjoying watching them do it though...the logic of wasting 7x their time to be a Douchebag and downvote each one...with the rationale being that it wastes their time to see the posts in the sidebar...is fascinating. They then go on to opine about how points don't matter... except apparently theirs and their petty votes.

Go look at their point totals and just realize they have a significant portion of their life and identity wrapped up in this blog and, well..... just that.

a) I have fast internet. It's only 4x.

b) It's odd that some people judge your character based on putting a -1 on the internet, but whatever floats your boat.

c) As for letting it go, it seems to me that some of you have the choice of "letting go" seeing a -1, and I have the choice of "letting go" a nearly daily post about a topic that's irrelevant to Michigan. Either way, we could each let something go.

d) There are 5 upvotes and 4 downvotes on this topic. It appears to be almost 50/50 on how many people appreciate these threads and how many could do without them.

e) There are 17 weeks of NFL football with games about three days a week, plus playoffs. That's 51+ "OT: Football ____________" threads. There could be 162+ "OT: Baseball ___________" threads. There could be 164+ combined "OT: Hockey ________" and "OT: NBA ______________" threads. Fans of those sports don't generally start those threads, because that would be dumb.

I'm a fan of relevant threads about important developments in almost all sports, but daily open threads about any sport are overkill.

Of course, if you disagree, you can ignore this post. Just like you can ignore the -1. Or I can ignore the constant threads. Or you can make personal attacks or neg me, neither of which will bother me.

You and I disagree. It doesn't make you a douchebag or an asshole. I still think there's a good chance that you're a fine, upstanding human being.

I don't vote except to drop a + for good posts and funny stuff that I appreciate. I don't neg except in the most extreme of cases, so you won't get one from me.

Okay douchebag not appropriate, you're right there. Apologize.

But....you came back to a thread that was several days old on a topic you don't care about and re-read it because....?

The same 5 people come here and bother to neg each and every one of these....the people that read it come to get the info, share and leave...they aren't all upvoting.

No one cares if you neg it...so by all means keep going. I'm just saying it is your time. It isn't going to change anything.

Halfway through UEFA WC qualifying. If it had ended today, these teams would be automatically qualified:
France, Switzerland, Germany, Serbia, Poland, England, Spain, Belgium, Croatia
The following teams would be second place finishers in groups and qualify for a two leg playoff (except for the team with the least amount of points against teams within their group that finished 1-5): Italy, Portugal, Greece, Ireland, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Slovakia, Iceland with Montenegro being the worst second place team and missing out on playoffs.

Notable omissions: Netherlands (who just fired their manager), Ukraine, Turkey, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovenia, Scotland, Denmark, Romania, Wales, Austria, Czech Rrepublic, Norway, Hungary, Bulgaria
