OT: SEC basketball coaching carousel
Does anyone want to coach in this conference?
SEC hoops jobs open: LSU, Florida, South Carolina and Missouri. All within the last week. Florida’s Mike White went to Georgia to fill the vacancy Crean’s departure left.
Apparently Mike White does, but not sure who else?
That one I don’t get, Florida has much more basketball history than Georgia does.
I'm thinking that's about the benjamins. Like Fisher ditching FSU for A&M.
White is not a hot commodity. UF was on the verge of running him out of town. This is him finding a soft landing.
What's stranger to me is why Georgia wanted him.

I think Jimbo knew FSU was going to crash and decided to bolt before it hurt his stock.
I’m honestly not sure how good a coach he his without Jameis
I think White left Florida before Florida left him. A preemptive breakup, if you will.
Yes—Gainesville Torch and Pitchfork was filling a lot of orders, and UGA would kill a drifter to have the ‘lack of success’ Florida basketball has had. Win-win.
Cosmo Kramer would be proud!

Georgia believes in solving problems with AGRE$$ION.
Well, all those people got fired because they suck, or they're cheaters, or they suck and they cheated. To be fair that doesn't mean those SEC schools can't find more of the same who'll happily coach there until they get fired.
If they cheated and still sucked, well they must really SUCK!!! Lol.
The problem with some of them is that they suck at cheating.
What's the definition of sucking at cheating? Getting caught? Or cheating and still not winning?
Looks like the basketball coaches haven't yet learned the secrets on how to "recruit to not get caught" like their SEC football HC counterparts.
In the SEC, only Kentucky really gives a damn about basketball. Otherwise, the other ADs have to fire their coach every once in a while-under the pretense of caring. Look what it took for Crean to be fired...47-75...almost 37%!
Mike White won’t have to do much to hold onto that job. .500 should get him 5-7 years of steady income.
The conference recruiting has been a lot better the last five years or so…I’m sure that’s due to a lot of Will Wade type of recruiting…but it really hasn’t done a whole lot for them on the court.
There is tons of physical talent in the SEC-they just don't know how to play the game. Basketball isn't football-where simply being physically dominant wins you the game.

This conference took a 2nd chance on Bruce Pearl - perhaps the most crooked (winner) in SEC history.
Unless you are Kentucky, hoops only passes time for the next CFB season

Bummer to see South Carolina part ways with Frank Martin, I've always liked him.
