OT: Roger Federer - Last On Court Interview

Submitted by Nervous Bird on September 24th, 2022 at 12:21 AM

This interview is as powerful as the vaunted Federer forehand. His tears, his wife's tears, his parents tears, Rafa's tears, tell you all that you need to know about what this man has meant to the game of tennis for the last 20 years. He will be missed.

Those Tiafoe forehands were amazing.

Sock is such a good doubles player, too.

I think this was a prefect way to retire, great timing and with the company of his greatest foes and teammates.  Definately the end of a very special era in professional tennis.

It was a fun match to watch.  Federer and Nadal will leave a legacy that will last for generations where Tiafoe seems to be the future of the game.  I enjoyed the mutual respect from the players.

I suspect Federer may have wanted his last match to be this way rather than on a big stage like Wimbledon.  Some people do not like the attention and prefer to fade quietly into the limelight.

If I could be any sportsman over the past 20 years it would be Charles Woodson or Roger Federer.

2 all time greats, timeless moments, ultimate success, class acts, no drama.
Tom Brady’s life seems glorious too, but at least appears to be more drama filled.

While we never know what goes on behind closed doors, Chuck and Fed would be my top man crushes.
