RIP Sergei.
I would look at Vladimir Putin to see if he had anything to do with this, 65 is relatively young.

Putin is too busy with Artemi Panarin right now.

Jeez, you can say that again. Interesting that right away, most of the press reporting on it made the direct correlation to Panarin's very public criticism against Putin and support of Alexei Navalny. Russian writers such as Slava Malamud & Igor Eronko were quick with their reporting, debunking Andrei Nazarov's allegations.
I remember right after the Rangers signed Panarin two summers ago, he gave an interview while in Russia that was the strongest criticism of Putin from a Russian athlete that I've ever heard, I didn't think he'd ever play a game for the Rangers after it.

All I remember when I think Red Wings/masseur/Sergei is Sergie Mnatsakov the one who was paralyzed in the crash with Vladi. Tcheka took over the next year I guess.

Saw this and watched The Russian Five again last night. Still puts a lump in my throat at the end, seeing Vladdy at the game when they won the cup. He remains my favorite of the Five. Always thought it was a great display of the organizations care for it's players to bring over other support staff, not just mine the talent on the ice.

Wait a minute, masseur wasn't a euphemism? This is the internet, sir.
