OT - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Revistited

Submitted by pontoon on
It was mentioned in a thread earlier today that Chad Smith, the drummer for the Chili Peppers, is from Michigan and that during a 2006 show they sang the Victors in Columbus. I did a lot of searching and was finally able to find a recording of the show (that worked). It doesn't quite live up to my expectations but its still funny. The whole thing is split up over these files, just jump towards the end of the first one to get to the good stuff. http://www.4shared.com/file/123245370/72c276d4/rhcp2006-10-30t25.html http://www.4shared.com/file/123245276/9a63b9d6/rhcp2006-10-30t26.html http://www.4shared.com/file/123245244/5f408b39/rhcp2006-10-30t27.html Then thanks to jg2112, http://www.dispatch.com/live/contentbe/dispatch/2006/11/03/20061103-F3-…

noble work to be sure. I tried to find it as well but gave up after one youtube search. I would give you a plus one but I don't know how(maybe this also requires 20 points) but I am sure you will get plenty either way. I thought the Red Hot version was very well done(though hard to hear), and the booing is priceless.

if he knew the right words, it would have been better. It did take some balls to sing that in Columbus, though. I won't even let my band play in that god-for-saken town, and I refuse to drive the band van through there as well. Go Blue!

This was brought up about a year ago re: piped in music.   "The Victors" on guitar would be cool.   As mentioned earlier, they have a great song "Especially in Michigan" paying homage to Michigan roots.
