Would absolutely travel to Vegas for that once-per-decade away game to watch the Lions and Raiders bludgeon each other... provided it's a night game.

There are just more desirable cities out there without a football team. I'd like to see the NFL in Canada, since they already have large populations of cable subscribing football fans in the same time zone as all the current teams. London would be about 20 times as desireable a location as well, despite the time slot/travel issues. If NFL franchises have left a major sports town like St Louis twice now since 1988(!) with it's rich sports history and huge population, then I have every reason to expect little Nevada to not be able to support an NFL team, with it's tiny population and zero franchises of any kind.

I doubt the NFL will end up with a franchise in Canada since Canadians are too smart to build a billionare a stadium with public money.  (I hope)

I'm also hoping the Raiders do end up somewhere where the pirate motif makes no sense, like the middle of the desert.  Or maybe they do something really smart like become "The Las Vegas Raiders of Reno, Nevada"

Speaking of moving teams, how is the stadium situation in Houston?  Maybe we could see the Las Vegas Texans!

The money factor in the NFL and sports in general is just stupid at this point. For example we renovated Michigan Stadium for 250 million. This is a stadium that will seat 70k at most and will cost 2 FUCKING BILLION?! What could possibly be so important to include in that place that gives that price tag?

If Michigan Stadium was entirely chairback seats it would hold around 90,000 to 94,000, so down 15,000 to 18,000 but certainly not 40,000 seats. For comparison, Fed Ex Field (largest NFL stadium) seats 91,000 and you could fit around 105,000 college fans in there. Most bench seated venues have from 16.5-18 inches per seat vs 19-21 inch range in the NFL.
