OT Put that thing away Pitino
Glad he took the UL job now instead of the M job? Anybody else remember how close he was to taking the M job?

I could see it if he had an indescretion with a groupie, but boinking one of your assistants' wives is not a very good way to represent your profession or your program. He's lucky he wins so much or he would be out the door.

If he wasn't Rick Pitino he would be out of a job right now.

Is having a fling grounds for termination?
How screwed up is it that the strength coach married this woman after the incident and "meeting" at his condo, and they didn't even know each other before it happened...or did they?

She wasn't married to the asst. at the time. They got married 6 months later.

Which is screwed up, but in a totally different way.

He had sex in a restaurant within earshot of an assistant and then paid for her abortion. He's dirt, but shouldn't lose his job.

Are you kidding me? With what Pitino has done with Louisville's basketball program, I would have been glad to take Pitino back in beginning of this decade. I'm 100% happy with Belien, but I still thought we should have put full court press on Pitino and hired him back then. Pitino is a good basketball coach who made a bad decision off the court.

wanted the Michigan job but his wife, who I'm sure he loves dearly, wanted to go back to Kentucky (the state, not the school). Thus we moved on Amaker. Gotta say, if all that pain and torment and indifference we suffered through for the decade got us to Beilein, I'm not sure it wasn't all worth it in the long run.

No, he's a slimeball, and this is just one more example in a string of good examples. But you're right, it's not illegal.

what he did isn't illegal and many a man has fallen victim to similar things. It makes him a slimeball but what does that say about this gold digger he was with? Some people have no conscience whatsoever.
Also, I found it interesting that there are so many clauses in his contract that can lead to termination. If they wanted to, I am sure that could twist things enough to have him fired over this without much difficulty given the portion on bad publicity for the school and the employee's moral depravity. Having said that, after what he has done for the schools BBall program I think he could get away with far worse without being let go.
