OT - Official MGoMardi Thread - how many have you ate or drank?
If we're going Paczki well, dammit, I'm going King Cake...
Anyone else order King Cakes (thanks Farmington Bakery!) or have Mardi Gras plans? Anyone? Bueller?
First year away from all the madness in quite some time and am trying my damndest not to slip into a great green, yellow and purple depression...
Do not swallow the baby. And go buy the next one.
Lassez les bon temps rouler!
time missing Mardi Gras in NO since 1997. Work is really interfering with my party schedule this year. I will be avoiding my phone so as to not deal with the drunk dials/texts from my friends on the neutral ground along St. Charles Ave., and the certain depression they would cause.
in the midst of a 16 hr work day i checked Facebook and saw live uploads of Muses as the parade went down the street. FML
I live just outside St. Louis and saturday was the big mardi gras festival down here. Had a blast; I guess it's the 2nd largest mardi gras celebration behind NO. Even got a shot of a giant Muppets float ftw. Still want to go down to NO for the real deal some year though.
i think the 2nd biggest is in alabama or something. good to hear STL breaks it down though!
STL is the 2nd biggest. Over a 100,000 people . My liver hates me
Mardi Gras in NO is an absolute blast. However, I don't even celebrate it when I'm in Michigan.
I was just down there this past week. It was a blast, the lack of an open intox law was pretty sweet but kind of blew my mind. Wish I could of stayed for today but back to class.
Gahhh I'd give anything* to get back to NOLA for another Mardi Gras!
I lived down there for 6 months after graduation before realizing that despite how awesome that city is, I'm still a Yankee at heart. That didn't stop me from spending a few nights out in the Quarter though. By the time Fat Tuesday came around during Carnival season I was so spent that I could barely stay awake through the Rex parade. I still have about 20 pounds of beads to give away... Awesomeness.
*not really... but I would give quite a bit
