The syracuse victory was at home last weekend

Syracuse was at home. Probably going to need a deep run in the Big East Tournament.

crazy about that win during the hockey game. Still a huge victory but I agree with them choking in the tournament because they always drop out early. Idk too early to say all around.

Even when ND was a top 25 team they always seemed to choke in the tourney. I found pleasure in that.

3 teams I'll never bet on in the NCAA Tournament: Notre Dame, Texas and Pitt. I don't care how good or bad they are, they always come up short in the tournament.

Spot on. I've been saying it for quite a few years now. I've done well in brackets being able to predict a Texas and Pitt collapse in the tourney.

I'm a Pitt fan second and you're absolutely right. They are awful in the tourney.

Is it Dixon? I've always felt like Barnes just had a lot of talent at Texas and wasn't that great of a coach, but with Dixon I can't figure it out.

I think Dixon is a good coach and in the beginning did very well with suspect players. That being said, he's had great talent and teams in the last 5 or so years and hasn't been able to get deep in the tourney.

I could be wrong but I think he's only won one Big East tourney as well.

and the big east in general aren't very good this year

even if they somehow sneak into the tourney, i can't see them doing much. they're well-coached and spunky, but they don't have all that much experience and they have next to no talent. they're incredibly fun to root for, because they have no business knocking off the the top of the big east, even after losing their best player for the season. but, i think the season hightlights are already in the rearview mirror...

The best college athletic program in the state of Texas RIGHT NOW is Baylor. 2012 is really the end.

To hell with Notre Dame!

This is the same ND team that was handled easily by a very average Maryland team.
Sell the ND stock, OP.

Notre Dame has been perenially picked low in the Big East. If Abromaitis were healthy and playing, this team would be considered a sleeper.
With that said, Mike Brey does a great job at getting the most out of his teams, with a lack of talent. After starting off 0-5 on the road, the Irish are now 3-1 in their last four roadies.
There are winnable games down the stretch: Marquette, DePaul, Rutgers, at Villanova, West Virginia, at St. John's, and Providence. I have road games at West Virginia and Georgetown as losses.
If they do go 7-2, 13-5 should be good enough for a double bye. In case you were wondering, Notre Dame was the #2 seed in the Big East Tournament last year, 8th in 2009-2010, and 9th in 2008-2009.

He beats teams he has no business beating during the regular season, then he loses in the first 2 rounds of the tournament. Wins over Syracuse and UCONN are impressive considering their best player Abromaitus went down in the I believe the 2nd game he played back from suspension.
