At least this hasn't happened to Michigan yet: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3719375.
A good reminder for people who complain about Michigan fans being impatient and irrational. Fans of most other big programs are so much worse. Although at this point Charlie's crew probably deserves it.

Stay classy, South Bend.

Michigan students were known for throwing marshmallows onto the field and at opposing players some years ago.

Actually the author of that article is lying. It says that none were thrown onto the field during play, but that's bull shit. When Syracuse scored the winning TD their players were hit by several snowballs while they were celebrating in the endzone.

Our fans are definitely above-average when it comes to understanding and patience. Anyone who believes otherwise flat-out has no idea how it is elsewhere.

I still remember in the pre-season when Lou Holtz and at least two espn.com writers were saying Notre Dame was a lock to be 11-0 going into the USC game. And that their game with USC would be a toss-up.

I heard this as well. Absolutely hilarious.
