This is/was inevitable. If someone is willing to pay for it, someone will gladly take the money. Nfl NHL and MLB will follow I believe, but it may take a few years. I'll happily still be a Detroit Wiseco Pistons, Detroit subsaharan lions, Detroit Asian tigers, and Detroit red wings Boots fan...

Please don't do this, NBA.  It looks very tacky.

Part of the reason why soccer teams have ads on the jerseys is because there is no time for commercials during the telecasts, so the corporate whoring has to go on some other way.  The NBA already takes a million commercial breaks.  It has no excuse.

can't really add much that hasn't been said about advertising on the jerseys, but i'm almost as concerned with the idea of instant replay at the end of games.   i'm a fan of the NBA but in many cases the last 2 minutes of a game already take ages and that may get worse if refs are checking replay for every close call on a charge/block or potential flagrant call.

Per the article, this seems to be something the league is "looking into" but hasn't definitely decided upon.  I think they are floating this proposal to see what the reaction is.

If you don't like this idea, you can email the NBA here:

If you don't care about the NBA but don't want to see this on any other sports league's uniforms, email the NBA anyway, because once this trend finds a beachhead there, it will spread, you can be sure.

After doing more research, appears the ad is a barely noticable speck on the uni. I'm kind of disappointed they didn't go EPL. Big Ford logo on the Pistons new jerseys.
