not a good day for the b10, with both michigan and michigan state losing...
[edit: minn loss to portland and an illini loss to utah...eeek]
lol.. yay! I won't have to hear Sparty saying "sooo.. what happened Thursday?"
comeback to that question:
"well.. we lost to an unranked team just like you did..."
"We beat Creighton and had turkey, stupid Sparty". Now FRIDAY.... ;-)
yikes.. I meant friday
You meant that's what a Spartan fan would ask you...they don't know what kind of dinner jacket to wear with their ski mask, no more what day of the week it is.
Yeah, that's the ticket....
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
I don't really care about MSU's team so much. What really pisses me off are all the fairweather fans who like to talk shit about Michigan at every opportunity. It pleases me to see them fall like this.
"Floriduh"? "gayturd"? Really?
much appreciated - thanks for pointing this out. extremely immature, op.
"immature"? Quite unlike comparing an OSU diploma with a handicap parking validation, eh? I really don't care, mind you, but the selective "calling out" on this site used to drive me nuts (and now just makes me laugh).
I think your username might be misspelled.
Catholepistemiad is the spelling the University uses.
Well, at least Northwestern beat Notre Dame. Just ended, with NW winning 72-58.
How is ND supposed to be this year? I mean they got Harangody but can he lead them to the tourney?
Well this sure as hell makes me feel a little better. Tons of Sparty fans trashing U-M for losing to an unranked team earlier today, guess they all spoke too soon.
Buh-buh-buh-but I thought they were carrying the entire state through the recession? Oh noes, now I can't make my house payment because State lost!
It wouldn't surprise me (sicken me, but not surprise me) to see Sparty cutting down the Nets this year. They got the experience last year, and there aren't the mature powerhouses there were last year. What could trip them up is some ridiculous talent ladden team like Kentucky that's NBA draft ready, if they're clicking (and not doing the Calipari choke job).
As for Michigan, I see it as a chance for Beilein to show them they're not as good as their ranking, and they still have to work and scrap if they want to succeed. Get that engrained now, and ready for the big boys.
Still 3 for 20....that's just how the system works. Live by the 3, die by the 3...
Still not sure you can win 6 in a row like that.
...the three can get you both ways, and it got us today...
...that was ugly...
with some crazy 3-ball shooting. (Including one half of something like 15 for 17 three point shooting.)
I don't remember the particulars, but when Izzo was interviewed a few years ago, he said he didn't see himself coaching college basketball past a certain age. There was an article somewhere last year about this, and it said he had reached whatever age he had cited. Sorry, but I don't remember whose article it was.
I hope the Pistons make him an offer he can't refuse. Really, the only times MSU basketball has been better than UM for more than a year at a time were the Magic Johnson years and the Izzo years. The rest of the time, UM has been better or they have been equal.
It is about time for the MSU delusions of superiority to be squashed.
When he was younger, he flirted a little, and he let his mentality that he won and won and wasn't appreciated enough (Spurrier Syndrome) settle into the perfect mindset for MSU, and I think particularly the last season helped him realize where he fits best. He less wants to be Coach K north now (though lately few have had as much success as him) and now wants to be the Bo of basketball in the state. And he's past his Texas A&M days.
The Pistons could be the squad that could pull him away, because he wouldn't have to move his family. But that would just be a cash grab right at the end of his career (NBA jobs don't last that long). And while they just hired a coach we that position isn't all that long term. But Joe hasn't shown the mindset at all that he thinks college guys have any business in the NBA game. Learning at the foot of Daly, he's much more of the mindset that "the (trainer) knows more about coaching an NBA team than a college coach". And since he paid his dues after being a major college coach (as well as the track record), I believe him.
Nice to wish for, though.
I despise MSU fans and their mentality towards Michigan.
I really enjoyed seeing the final scores from both basketball and hockey for them.
I only care how UM performs.
rofl.. look at how they throw their team under the bus
"Izzo really needs to fire Stephens and Montgomery after this debacle. It was clearly their schemes that caused the team to turn the ball over 22 times. If Izzo doesn't get rid of at least one of these guys in the next 2-3 weeks, it's time to evaluate his job status in the offseason."
