OT: Michigan connections at CES 2018

Submitted by oriental andrew on

So the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 kicks off next week in Vegas. I've never attended and never followed the live tweets/blogs whatever, but do keep track of updates here and there.

The connection this year is that Ford CEO and former Michigan AD, Jim Hackett, will be one of the keynote speakers.

Gov. (and 3-time UM degree holder) Rick Snyder will be a panelist in a couple of sessions on self-driving cars and how states can become innovation leaders:

And in a state of Michigan connection, Director of MDOT, Kirk Steudle, will be a panelist in a session about smart cities:

Random stuff, but I found it interesting.

Hackett will always be a great guy to meet - his coaching search and how he handled letting BH go were things to be modeled by other ADs.

Contrast that with ADs like Goss, Martin's 07 coaching search, anything to do with the Brandon era, etc.

I think Warde is a good guy and someone who will not let things happen like happened at MSU with Nasser
