OT: mgoDAB Bracket Tool for 2023?

Submitted by Michigan Mizo on March 13th, 2023 at 11:49 AM

Last year mgoDAB created a very useful bracket tool and wrote and excellent diary about it.

I'm curious if this user had the time/desire to refresh the tool even without Michigan making the tournament this year?

This is absolutely a selfish request but I will say of the 3 brackets I filled out last year the one that strictly followed this tool performed the best.  I would have won my office pool had I been smart enough to enter it.

Good luck to everyone with their brackets no matter what method you use.

Thanks for asking.I should be able to post as a diary by tonight.

I’ve been working the last week or so on making the model run faster, accommodate more simulations, have more functionality, and be easier for anyone to use.

Stay tuned!

A little off subject but the WSJ used to do a blind bracket simulation tool, renaming all the teams silly ass mascot names but showing team data with W/L, how competitive their conference was, how "hot" or "streaky" the team was, if they had bigger/taller players, or shorter/faster players, 3pt percentages, etc...

For someone who loves March Madness but knows nothing about most of the teams outside the B1G, that was a great tool and actually pretty fun to fill out.

I used it last year and won first place in the bracket contest I was in with all my friends.  First time I ever won a bracket contest.  I hope it is back this year.

Looking forward to checking it out. Fellow Madness geek. I typically look at KenPom, 538 Sports, and Bracket Vodoo along w Vegas lines for first round games to help make picks.
