Headliners include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White, Black Sabbath (lolwut), and The Black Keys.  There are quite a few of the "minor"/non-headliner acts I'm very interested in seeing; Justice, Franz Ferdinand, The Temper Trap, Of Monsters and Men, Band of Skulls, Little Dragon and SBTRKT, Wale, and maybe Florence + the Machine (and quite a few more).  I saw RHCP back in '06 so I'd maybe see them again but with John Frusciante gone I don't know if they're the "same band".

Anywho, what's everyone's thoughts on music festivals?  Anybody plan on going to Lollapalooza, ever attended, attended and hated it and will never do it again?!?

Roo has been lame for some time now.. But you like DMB so that says a lot about what you think is " good ".  I will never go back to. I might go to Camp Bisco just to see the last 3 Biscuits shows EVER..

Went to Lollapalooza in 1992 in Minneapolis on Harriet Island.  The lineups:

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Ice Cube, Soundgarden, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Lush, Buffalo Tom.  Stone Temple Pilots, Cypress Hill, House of Pain and Luscious Jackson were also involved (I think).

The Pearl Jam set was unbelievable.  Ice Cube had his stage guys aiming sawed-off shotguns at the crowd.  Ministry was...interesting.

Grunge and the early 90s.  God I'm old.  But the Peppers are playing this year, so I might have to go.

I went last year just on Friday and saw some great bands that have since blown up (Foster the People and Young the Giant.) I was able to get the secret sale tickets this year so for $75 I get 3 days of awesome music. Out of the 6 main stage headliners (Black Keys, RHCP, Black Sabbath, Jack White, Justice, and Avicii) I am most excited for Black Keys, Avicii, and Justice.

As a Chicago native I have a special place for Lolla, but I'm on the east coast now and Bonnaroo and Firefly (in Delaware) cover most of these acts. Guess I'll see what it looks like next year.

Meh...  Already seeing RHCP at the Joe.  Other than that the only people I'd want to see is J Cole, The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, and Wax.  Might go see Wax and Hoodie Allen though so...  There's that.

A lot of the more popular bands today aren't really my type of music.  Going to check out Childish Gambino though.  Been meaning to check him out, and forgot all about him until I saw this.

Some of the bands included Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Bullet For My Valentine, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, Godsmack, Rise Against, Nonpoint, Coheed & Cambria, and Killswitch Engage.

I also went in 2009 and saw Slipknot, Alice In Chains, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, All That Remains, and Clutch..to name a few.

While I appreciate what Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo bring to the table, it just doesn't do it for me.
