OT - Kwame Kilpatrick indicted

Submitted by InterM on

A federal grand jury just indicted former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on 19 counts of mail fraud, wire fraud, and tax offenses.  Here's the indictment:  http://download.gannett.edgesuite.net/detnews/2010/pdf/KilpatrickIndict…

In essence, he used a non-profit "civic fund" to pay his friends, send his kids to summer camp, pay for rounds of golf, a birthday party, etc., and then he neglected to report all this as income on his tax returns.

Because of his shady dealings, the city stands to gain. His arrogance, and follies have opened all of the city's shady dealings for the public to see. The vast majority of the jerks who were stealing from kids education, and the city's residents are being held resposible for their wrong doings. No matter how long he goes in the pokey, his name will be synonymous with the turn around of Detroit. Damn you Kwame, Damn you!

Did you not watch his press conference when he stepped down as Mayor??

He filled a room with his supporters and family and friends and gave this insanely pompous speech that even Mike Garret would think was over the top.  He literally said "I want to tell you, Detroit, that you done set me up for a comeback"

If anything, douchebag is taking it light on Kwame.  He helped continue to ruin the area I grew up in, and he can rot in jail for all eternity as far as I'm concerned.  Every citizen and child that he stole from should be allowed to kick him in the shins.

I first assumed the board was suffering from the same quirk that causes mgo.licio.us to occasionally spit out old links.

Such a disgusting abuse of power, especially in these hard times, is borderline treason in my book. He is scum, and deserves to rot in prison.

Hope Kwam's has a Shawshank moment or 12 @ Manistee where he meets the local Bogs or any of the other "Sisters". If Kwame walks with a limp for the rest of his days, well, I am good with that.
