OT-ish: RV tailgating at Pioneer

Submitted by Wendyk5 on

We're thinking about doing something I've dreamed about for years: renting an RV and driving to Ann Arbor for the Ohio State game. I've checked out the Pioneer website for RV parking and it's pretty detailed. But it would be helpful to hear from someone who's done it. It says you can enter at 11:00 PM on Friday night and stay until noon on Sunday. I'm wondering how crazy is it on Friday night as RV's are pulling into the lot. It says you can buy a reserved pass; we'd probably do that.

And it's not that crazy. Fun time, just like any other tailgate. The best part of RV tailgating is the private bathroom and relief from the elements.

It will be much busier trying to get to Pioneer on gameday than it will pulling in on a Friday night. There will probably be a lot of RV's there that night, but they show up pretty spread out throughout the evening as everyone arrives to town and you won't have to deal with general gameday traffic.

For that game.  Of all the home games, the Pioneer lot is easily the most crowded for the OSU game.  And like it is alluded to above, you'll be glad to have your own bathroom for that game as the lines at the porta johns will be long.  I doubt it will be hard pulling in on Friday night.  Most of the goobers from Ohio don't get there until Saturday.
