NYR leaning hard into the Michigan connections.
Your userpic has more and better content than your opening post.
Let's do better. Include first names, include the name of the NY team, maybe even include which sport. I'm a hockey fan and even then your OP was so lacking in the basics that it was a head-scratcher. There's a large percentage of MGoUsers who aren't hockey fans but do deserve informative posts to the MGoBoard.
(and yes, I see you already posted a reply to add a couple unclickable links, but even then, still too lacking in information)
Its almost as if we should have a "Select sport" drop down for anybody starting a new topic so that the board will automatically display the "Pro Hockey" tag in the subject line for a post like this one.
Okay guys, my bad! I'll do better next time. I'll go eat some salteñas. I won't be upset if you delete this.
For those interested in the details, according to the headlines, the NHL’s New York Rangers have traded for former Michigan stars Andrew Copp and Tyler Motte to “bolster (their) forward group”. They'll be joining another former Michigan star, defenseman Jacob Trouba, on the Rangers.
Go, Broadway Blues!
LOVE the Copp trade. LOVE what Chris Drury did in his first deadline day. Address the weaknesses of his team and did so without moving a 1st or any tip tier prospect.
Didn't go too far over his skis, the Rangers are better today than they were yesterday and their future has been unharmed at the same time. The Little League World Series champion might made a damn fine GM, after all.
Chris Drury: Only person to have won a Little League World Series championship, an NCAA hockey championship, the Hobey Baker Memorial Award as college hockey’s best player, the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Rookie of the Year, a Stanley Cup championship and two Olympic medals and captained two different NHL teams.
Hopefully soon to add Stanley Cup winning General Manager to that impressive resume!
former Michigan Deker Jed Ortmeyer is in front office if you want some other connective tissue.
