OT - I am thankful for

Submitted by Magga Saraivah on

There has been a lot of negativity this year (bad season, concussion gate, fire Brandon, fire Hoke, Frank Clark, etc).  I think we need to take a break and consider all of the good things in our lives and about this community.

I personally am thankful for having a great family who made it possible for me to attend such a great University.  I am thankful for the the Education this University gave me and the future it has created for me.

Remember, we are all maybe just a few stupid decisions (either ours or someone elses) away from having all this taken away from us.

What are you thankful for ?

EDIT:  Sorry too many e's.  Spelling goof.

i am thankful that I was born in the United States, a middle class white male, with out deformaties of any kind, a pretty quick mind and positive disposition as far as family (divorced but loving).  Our world is pretty much crafted for people like me.

So I have that going for me...

pathetic this world we live in eh?

Rick Leach, Harlan Huckleby, Russell Davis, Jimmy Smith, and Dave Brown on the gridiron and Ricky Green, Steve Grote, and Phil Hubbard on the hardwood. Those memories sustain me during this lost decade of Michigan football.

At the Minnesota game, the University and coaching staff joined others to support Coach to Cure to fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  My son and family was invited to the game.   I was pushing my son in his wheelchair down the tunnel to the field.  There was a group of people that started cheering like he was a player.  That was a top ten moment of my life.  I am thankful the coaching staff and players made time to meet us and make it a special day.

I am also thankful they work their asses off to give me something I can cheer/bitch about each fall to escape for a couple hours on Saturdays.

Each morning I get to see my kids wake up is something I cherish and am thankful for everyone of them.

God and eternal peace!  For my mom's crockpot roast beef and I had 38 awesome years with her!  My dad because he truly is my hero!  My wife because she is my best friend and lover!  My new son, after 11 trying painful years he has made the wait worth it!  For my job as a physical educator!  For double stuff oreos and milk, sour stuff, craft beer and venison!

Also I am really (legitimately) thankful for this blog!  I enjoy the over stimulation of all things U of M and the wide range of opinions.  This blog has truly helped me to look at how I view various things/issues in my life.
