Saint John's is gonna be dangerous.  Lavin was a good recruiter before he was broadcasted into every recruit's living room on ESPN during their formative years.

The Fab Five was a once in a lifetime team.  Many talk about their effect on the social aspects of the game, but a bigger, though more subtle effect may be that people now think their freshman classes can come right in and get to the Final Four.

I don't see these 10 freshmen doing a lot of damage this year.  It will also be interesting to see how much attrition he has out of that class and whether or not he encourages some attrition to free up schollies over the next few years.  No school can afford to start over every four years.  I am guessing that at least two of these kids are gone in one year.

A couple of the players are coming from JUCO which will open up scholarships in 2 years and give SJU older and (presumably) more developed players. That at least helps, but I agree; I wouldn't want to be forced to start over every 4 years.

He does a couple of days coaching the co-ed squads at St. John's, and that the media covers it in force.

I am shocked that no one has quoted the most impressive paragraph.

"God's Gift (20) is the third of six children born to Eunice and Donatus Achiuwa of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He has one older brother, Promise, and two younger brothers, God's Will and Precious. He also has one older sister, Grace, and one younger sister, Peace.

Can you imagine calling the family to dinner around that house?
