OT - Gary Danielson
I just learned yesterday that Gary Danielson graduated from my high school.
Not that I was a big fan of my high school in the first place, but I think I'm gonna go crawl under a rock now, 'cuz this is pretty embarrassing.
AND YES THIS POST IS IMPORTANT DADGUMMIT

You mean Divine Child doesn't have pictures of him on the walls? Shocking. Ryan Anderson = the best athlete to come out of that school.

To be honest, when I was a student there, I found it hard to care about any athletics whatsoever, especially since the football team's philosophy at the time was "Oh, it's 3rd and 10? Well, I don't know, run it up the middle." The only entertaining thing I ever heard about the football team was when they recruited a friend of mine (who was first and foremost a wrestler) to play nose tackle, and because he had no idea what he was doing, somehow ended up suplexing a kid on his first play.
I had no idea how good some of the older teams were.
BTW, if we're talking about great athletes, you can't leave out the Webster girls, who all broke a zillion track and cross country records at D-1. Unfortunately, Liz (who was in my class) ended up at Notre Dame. Boo.

I think that Bill McCartney coached Divine Child in the 70s and won some state championships before moving on to M. So your alma mater used to be good, at least.

Bill was the only high school coach hired on as a full time assistant by Bo.

From what I understand, they didn't lose any games over like a three year stretch or something.
They don't even have their own football field. They use Dearborn Heights Crestwood's football facilities.

mentioned a couple times that my buddy played in the Mariners farm sytem for a few years. Let me just say this....Ryan Anderson was an immature prick. I'll just leave it at that because that's probably as nice as I can be.

My brother was pretty close to Ryan Anderson... the reason for him heading to Divine Child was because Livonia Franklin refused to put him on the varsity team as a Freshman.

The entire state of Michigan should probably be embarrassed about Gary Danielson.
(Can you imagine Danielson and Musberger together as a broadcast team?)
As far as Divine Child ... I watched Dexter lose to DC in the hockey playoffs last year, so apparently they're okay in hockey.

Danielson was much more tolerable when he was working games with Musberger. At least he wasn't slurping Tebow and the SEC every Saturday.

I guess if you put two miserably obnoxious announcers together, one has to be less miserably obnoxious than the other. I'd just like to put them somewhere nobody could hear them. Maybe that Fox Sports Plus channel would hire them.

Gary Danielson would bottom for Timmy Tebow and take it.
Unlubed.

He has a special place in my heart as the leader of the 1980 Lions, who blew a 4-0 start to miss the playoffs at 9-7.
Yes, I pretty much ignore everything he says on the air. Why do you ask?

I think it would be hard to retain any piece of sanity if you didn't ignore everything he says on the air. Mainly because all he says on the air is "Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow the spread is dead Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow."

"TEBOW, tim tebow."

My poor approximation here of how many "Tebows" were uttered in this clip is somewhere around 150-200.
