OT: Game 7 for the Cup

Submitted by goblueram on June 12th, 2019 at 7:32 PM

There's just nothing like a game 7 in playoff hockey, and tonight we have the best possible scenario in the sport - a game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final.  This has been a back and forth series, so hopefully we will see a good game.  I am certainly rooting for overtime.

St. Louis is looking for their first ever Cup - they are the only original expansion team (1967) to never have won one (the teams that have folded or merged have won them under new team names).

The Bruins have 6 Cups and is looking to give the city of Boston its 3rd trophy to hold right now.

Krug went to staee, plus he whines a lot when a guy just so much as touches him. But he only stands up to people if his teammates are around. At least rat Marchand doesn’t wait for his teammates to go at someone.

No matter who wins tonight, the little kid and all of his dreams in me will come out tonight and I will get goosebumps once I see the champions lift the Cup... with that said...

Started the series rooting for the Blues hard- feel like the Blues have played significantly dirtier than the Bruins which is really hard to do.  So now, I'm rooting for Game 7 overtime.

Although I still probably want the Blues.

Go Blues! Only for the simple fact I’m tired of seeing Boston hoist so many trophies...

I can’t wait until the Wings are relevant again. LGRW!!

Nothing better then the Stanley cup playoffs  I really hope the blues can win it all. Boston has won enough championships for one city

I got no real dog in this fight, but I’d rather see the Blues win their first Cup than see Boston have one more reason to think it’s collective shit doesn’t stink.

Jeez... Binnington coming up huge so far! Lots of defensive zone mistakes by the Blues so far.

Edit: If I see the Blues go up the middle again on a defensive zone clear, I'm going to lose my fucking mind! OFF THE BOARDS, ALWAYS OFF THE BOARDS!!!

I’m not that big of a hockey guy but this is what it’s all about, definitely watching.  Very intense...

In STL, Go Blue(s)!

Should be easy for all of us!

Having to use Waze to get home because of watch party traffic downtown after work sucked though.

There were lots of people in Blues dress downtown as I was driving home tonight. Two different watch parties, both sold out. I hope the crowd at Busch didn't get driven out by rain. This could be the biggest celebration in the history of St. Louis since the Cardinals won the World Series in 1926 (which my grandfather told me about).

Wow what a freakin break for the Blues to be up 1-0 right now. They could've easily been down 2-0 or 3-0 for how much Boston was destroying them for 10 minutes there

Wow what a play by the Blues!

How crushing is that for Boston. Totally dominate the period....St Louis scores on their only 2 chances of the whole period

What I love about playoff hockey.  A team can dominate but find themselves in a hole due to a hot goalie, a little bad puck luck.  Love watching the agony of defeat in the eyes of the home crowd in a game 7.  Hope it happens to Drake, getting sick of seeing him on the sideline like he’s courtside of And1 tour.   Let’s go Blues 40 minutes let’s do this.

Now Sir Charles is breaking down hockey?  I don’t mind

the blues will clamp down on the bruins and squeeze the life out of them, anaconda style.  for the competition aspect alone it would be cool to see boston catch up, but i'm with the majority on this one:  let st. louis win their first.
