OT- FSU faces probation, etc

This is big because Bobby Bowden was only trailing Joe Pa by 1 win, and he will have to forfeit two seasons worth! Yikes.

Dammit. Going into the 2008, FSU was the only program in the country to have recorded more consecutive winning seasons than us (thanks to our 6-6 1984 team). These vacated seasons would have given us that distinction, if we hadn't fallen apart last season.

I went to the 2007 FSU vs Kentucky Music City Bowl. The FSU team came to the stadium on the Little Bus, they only had about 15 players on the sideline.

Bowden has always seemed slippery to me! Gosh I hate to say it but if you would have asked me in 1998 when I was 17 I would have said he was a cheater. Surprised he made it this far before getting busted.

But he sure is great at looking the other way while his subordinates do.... But this is another example of the NCAA piling on a program that is down, while ignoring the transgressions of O$U and U$C. Why haven't they had to forfeit their NC's with Clarett and Bush? I guess money talks when you are in NCAA enforcement.

USC's case is still under investigation. Should be done soon. However, the NCAA won't punish USC unless they prove that they knew Bush was taking money. With Clarett, I believe there was no proof of any wrong doing until after his Freshman year, and since he never played after that, what would you suspend him for?

I don't care if Bowden actively cheats or not - he runs a renegade program and ranks discipline right below "romantic getaway to Mogadishu" on the priority list. Zero respect for him or the FSU program. Very happy to see that it just got that much tougher for him to catch Joe Pa. He and Paterno have been playing chicken for several years now and they obviously both want that record very badly; I imagine Joe Pa is a very happy man right now. Of course, vacating victories is kinda silly. I mean, somebody eliminated Kentucky in the 1993 Final Four, because obviously it wasn't the Wildcats calling an extra time out, but the "official record" vacated those games. Really, the NCAA ought to focus less on vacating old wins and more on making it very very difficult to gain future ones.
