OT: F* MSU: Former Michigan dean guilty of neglect in handling of Nassar

Submitted by boliver46 on June 12th, 2019 at 2:25 PM

I am in a meeting so this is a lazy copy-paste, but thought this was board-worthy:

A former dean who had oversight of now-imprisoned sports doctor Larry Nassar at Michigan State University was found guilty Wednesday of neglect of duty and misconduct in office but acquitted on a more serious criminal sexual conduct charge.

William Strampel, the ex-dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, was the first person charged after Michigan's attorney general launched an investigation 1½ years ago into how Michigan State handled complaints against Nassar, a former USA Gymnastics team physician who pleaded guilty to molesting female athletes and possessing child pornography.

Please note I took the title directly from the article so missed it says Michigan Dean.  And Cannot Edit.  Sigh.

Just wanted to use "nattering nabob of negativism" in an MGoBlog comment.  Upvoted you for the unhappy face so that's a net plus 1 from me for your point count.

Sentencing is July 31st. This POS needs to do some jail time.

Next on the docket is Lou Anna Simon.

Watching her body language and total put out demeanor on the news during her trial is disgusting. Hope she gets jail, too.

Last but not least is gymnastics coach Klages. Her trial is later this summer. She was one of the first ones to shame those girls to be quiet about Nassar.

HUGE POS!!!!

Wonder how he escaped the other charges. The fucker was caught red handed with videos of Nassar doing his "exams" and molesting victims.

I'm not a lawyer, but considering the videos he possessed could have prevented countless women from being assaulted, I guess I was hoping they'd be able to nail him on more than what basically amounts to being bad at his job. That's not even considering the potentially nefarious ways he came to have them in the forst place. Hopefully sentencing reflects that.

What a very strange thing to post on a message board.  Congrats on being able to decide what you wear. You must be over 5 years old and part of the 99.3% of the US population that isn't wearing a jail mandated jumpsuit, pretty special stuff!
