OT: Ex-UNLV Star and former # 2 Overall Pick Armen Gilliam dies
Armen Gilliam, a former No. 2 overall pick of the Phoenix Suns in 1987, died Wednesday. He was 47.
Gilliam collapsed of a heart attack while playing basketball at LA Fitness in Collier Township, Penn. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
Gilliam was a class act in the NBA, and a stud on one of the great UNLV teams.

RIP Armen Gilliam
sorry dont have enough points to start a thread but according to espn dee hart broke his knee and is out for the season
No shit but your point definitely belongs in this thread. RIP everyone who dies today.
Broke his knee? Really? Do you not know basic medical terms?
requires less rehab than a sprained face.
im sorry just thought it should be known just in a diffrent thread
It was,yesterday.
ESPN sports talk here they had some great stories about Gilliam. I've never met the guy before but he was a tenacious player on the court and sounds like he was better person off the court.
my regards and respect to his family. 47 is too soon.
Heart disease is still number one (though decreasing) on the age adjusted causes of death. It's always shocking in someone so young with many years to give.
Remember him well on that UNLV team and with the Hornets in the NBA.
Rest in Peace and his memory live forever.
