That was probably the BEST statement I have ever heard from an NFL player, no less a quarterback. Other sports stars should take a read and learn from this. All too often you have your spoiled, selfish sports stars that only care about themselves. This is VERY refreshing to see. I really hope he means this!

Stafford didn't look great in the preseason. He had a terrible game against Cleveland, had a lackluster games against Buffalo, and put up big yardage but no TD's against Indianapolis. He simply has too many ups and downs in one game to be starting QB right now. Culpepper brings a steadiness at the QB position that Stafford doesn't have and the Lions desperately need. The Lions can't afford to further alienate the fan base by starting 0-6 while Stafford gets some on the job training.

real classy cuppepper. I don't really know how much this guy has left, but I would really like for this guy to win a superbowl before his career is over. he really deserves one.

Just got hurt at the wrong time during the pre-season. He'll be sharing time with Stafford the whole year, no matter what they say. And I'm not sure how I feel totally on Stafford starting so soon. Remember Kurt Warner helped Eli along for the first half season... and John Kitna to Carson Palmer.... and Drew Brees for Phillip Rivers... Stafford has a heck of a deep ball though.

If you look at the Mock draft on the side in this link, at the third overall pick in the 2010 draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Brandon Graham. This would mean he has a fantastic season for UofM so... nice.

He will be making NFL QB money for cheerleading. He can rest his body and hope that it heals more, and try for another contract somewhere else next year. And if he continues to display a great attitude, he will be coaching somewhere when he has wrung every last bit of production from his torn body.
