OT - Cornhole Board Designs

Submitted by Impaler 19 on June 13th, 2020 at 8:02 AM

Hey everyone, this is a little off topic but it is a bit different from many of the Covid threads filling up the board. I am working from home during this little pandemic we have and due to the fact that I have an hour+ commute to and from work everyday I have a significant amount of extra time in my days that I don't normally get. As a result I have got several projects done around the house/yard and my next one is to build a cornhole set for the family.

I have several ideas of how I want to proceed and I think I am pretty much there. I was just wondering if anyone would like to share some images of the boards they have designed. I have looked at lots of designs on the internet and there is some pretty good stuff out there but I am sure that there are people on this board that have done some things that are even better. Post pictures of what you have to see if I can get anymore inspiration or to just brag about the awesome designs you have come up with.

Thanks.

Sorry, I should have added in the OP that I am looking for Michigan themed designs but that is probably understood already.

Have a great day. GO BLUE

I’ll take a picture of my boards later, but my dad built our whole family boards for Christmas in 2014 and they’re awesome. He used the split-logo M (forgive him, he’s a Purdue guy) and one of the actual Wolverine logos.

I just wanted to suggest doing something similar to what he did with the design because it is insanely convenient. He built a slot at the bottom of one of the boards and ran a tape measure through it, the tape measure is attached to the back of the board and runs through that slot. He wrote on the tape measure how far you need to measure for Junior play and professional play. So all you have to do is pull the tape from the bottom of the board and wait until you reach the right distance for the other board. I’ll try to take a picture of it to show you later, but I don’t have the boards handy at the moment.

not corn hole, but a block M in my weightroom. Simple, basic, used pallet wood for a power lifting platform

.

used Minwax color stains for the base of these. Simple design for each kid

Thanks XM. Kids spent most of their senior summer hopping grad party to party as they dubbed it the seniors corn hole circuit. Now they have their own to play whenever. Pretty easy to make even for those not highly skilled in carpentry.

Braylon with a nod to my wife's school's agricultural heritage (note:  as I tell people, "she then got two more degrees from UofM to class up her resume").

Have made a couple over the past few years but my favorite corn hole design that I made was I had my family’s name symbol on it, which is a big Griffin center piece on the boards, with Irish colors on it and “Griffin“ running along the bottom. Great to break that one out for family gatherings. Also made Custom bags that have a gothic “G“ for one team and a Griffin symbol for the other team.
