OT: Brandon Inge's house is for sale
To anyone that cares, I live across the street from Brandon Inge, and I noticed today on my way home that there's a for sale sign in the yard.
I do not mean to imply I know any more than his house is for sale, just thought I'd contribute what I know to those who may care. Other than being his neighbor, it doesn't matter to me, as I'm a Twins fan.

The writing was on the wall, with all of the housecleaning, and with Inge still not performing at the plate. One of my favorite tigers, though, and the best defensive third baseman I have ever seen in Detroit.
IIRC, he signed a four year contract in December of 2006, which has not been renewed.

I know he strikes out a lot, but after Grandy he is the next in line as far as a player that represents Detroit. What a great third baseman too, not the best time to be a tiger's fan......

But however, he's been overpayed, last year he started hot at hitting but after the all star game his game fell, his average, slugging pct and i'd dare to say his defensive game.
He's getting old, his glove didn't seem to be that good last year, his batting average has always been .250ish, if we can get a good deal trading him it might be the wise move

He actually could probably afford more house than what houses are going for in our neighborhood, so I suppose it's possible he signed a new contract and bought a new house in the area. He was around here as recently as a couple weeks after his surgery, but his family generally spends the winters in warmer weather.

Doesn't everyone have a For Sale sign in the Detroit area? Perhaps he's just planning on buying up a few square miles of real estate near the ballpark with the proceeds, whenever someone antes up. He might even be in the process of signing a 3 year contract extension, figuring that it will take several years to sell that house anyway and he might as well get a jump on it now.

I don't know anything about real estate in the Detroit area. I'd have to believe that with things as depressed as they are, you can get an awful lot of house/mansion for $500k or more.

probably average of 300k, give or take 50k. We just moved in this past summer, so it should be pretty reflective of the current real estate market. Like I said, I'm pretty sure he can afford more house than he has here. I think he's been in this house for 4-5 years or so. The development is only about that old, so it wouldn't have been any longer than that.

The Inge family has been thinking of building a house for sometime now. I hate being "that guy" but I know this because a friend of mine is very close friends with Brandon's wife. They like the area, and will more than likely maintain a residence here even when his playing days are over.

While I have yet to meet him (I just moved in over the summer), I've never had the sense that they wanted to leave the area, regardless of his status with the team.

Inge isn't going anywhere, as long as he hits like he did last year.
He probably won't get as much money as he did last time though.

Hopefully Brandon will be back, I think he was really hurting down the stretch last year and that's why his hitting suffered. We really need his defense as well.

The Dexter area.
For Tigers fans sake, I hope he isn't leaving. I think he's a valuable asset to the team for more reasons than just what shows up in the stats. As I mentioned, I'm actually a Twins fan, so my true interest in this is almost solely as his neighbor.

btw inge is signed through 2010.
Reality: probably had a house built during the season and now it's ready for move in. Some pro players I've dealt with do this (especially when their "payday" starts coming in)
